Lilly and I had a great time with each other this weekend. It was really special being able to zero in on her. As my only daughter, she is so special to me. We spent two nights and three days in the Ellijay mountains. The drive up there was so quiet and peaceful without the other boys... great Lilly-Dad share time. We slept in a 12-bunk cabin with no heat and plywood doors that didn't really close(can you say freezing?...we were cold to the core). Some highlights were: hanging out in the cabins, eating outside, canoeing, riding a 4-wheeler together, writing in our journals :), the "Drop Zone" (big swing in the woods), and a 400-foot zip line that started from a platform 60 feet in the air. It was awesome to see how brave she was with these events and trusting that if Daddy said it was safe, then she trusted it completely. She was the only girl to just let go of the zip line and relax in the harness. The camp leaders said she looked like a professional. She was also very bubbly around the other girls, asking them their name, goofing off with them... at one point I walked into a cabin and they were all standing in a circle singing "Little Sally Walker" and each girl would come out into the middle and do a funky dance, then choose someone else. She's got a little Daddy in her :). I will never forget our weekend together and I pray that she doesn't either.

Easter Celebration
He has Risen Indeed! Hallelujah!!
After church we enjoyed a wonderful meal with our family followed by an Easter egg hunt. Johnny got the hang of picking up eggs off the ground! The first time he hunted eggs on Saturday, he was wondering why we bought eggs at the store then threw them on the ground! He learned quickly that it didn't matter, there was candy inside! The children love being with their Gramma and their cousins! We all enjoyed being with our family...making memories and reflecting on Our Savior! We celebrated the most important day in history...Our Savior's Resurrection! May we arise to worship Him daily!
Good Friday
Good Friday began with a Bible study with Dad at breakfast and ended with a treasure hunt for Easter gifts and a picnic in the park! We celebrate today, because of what HE did for US on the cross!
A Silver for Lilly! Performance Awards 2008
A Silver for Lilly!! This was Lilly's first year to be a part of the Performance Awards at her school of dance. She was judged by a world renowned judge according to her skill level. She did a BEAUTIFUL job! God has truly blessed her with a gift of dance...may He receive all the glory! She performed the "Necklace Dance" Level 2. We all enjoyed seeing her perform solo for the first time! But wait...there is more...Shortly after Lilly left the stage, we were all asked to head to the basement...a tornado was heading our way! We spent the next two hours in the basement under a table at times. There was a calm in the eye of the storm. The dance company is owned & operated by believers and you could hear the voice of prayers all around the room. When all settled down, they announced the awards to those who had an opportunity to perform. Lilly's first Performance Awards will always be memorable!!
Another Win!...District Science Fair
Mike and Jacob went to the District Science Fair today at Forsyth Christian School in Suwanee where Jacob received a "Superior" ribbon again! What does this mean for the team...where do they go from here?
Jacob (and Mike's) experiment involved paper airplanes and needless to say planes were flying everywhere! When Mike's around fun abounds! Jacob had to speak in front of two judges and write a 3 paragraph paper in addition to the work he did in the BCA Science Fair where he received a "Superior" ribbon. Way to go Jacob!! It has been a fun journey for both Jacob and Mike! And a"Thanks" to Gramma for the paper airplane book ...it got the project off the ground!! :) Mike (as a scientist) enjoyed participating in the judging (except 3rd grade) at BCA. We love that Jacob had to incorporate a bible verse in his studies and he chose Isaiah 40:31 "but those who trust in the Lord will renew their strength; they will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not faint." May we "renew" in the Lord daily!
